About
Benjamin Sautter currently holds the position of Junior Professorship specialized in geology. With a Ph.D. focusing on structural inheritance in the geodynamics of Southeast Asia, he then work as a research professor at PETRONAS University of Technology in Malaysia.
He worked on quantifying vertical movements, the deformation processes, and the erosion of basement rocks, as well as source-well dynamics. After that, he worked within the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CCGM), where he was responsible for constructing the database for the first Geological Map of the World at a 1/5 million scale.
His work at the laboratory will be focusing on hydrological processes within the land-sea continuum, and more precisely the influence of anthropogenic and climatic changes on fluid circulation in the fractured bedrock.
