Presentation<\/strong><\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

The implementation of heavy port infrastructures<\/strong> systematically induces a certain number of functional impacts on its immediate environment<\/strong>. This is the case of the hydrodynamics and especially current modifications generated by the construction of piers and docks.<\/p>\n

The port of Guadeloupe Guadeloupe<\/strong> is no exception to the rule and its establishment has contributed to significantly modify the marine environment of the northern part of the bay of Petit cul-de-sac Marin.
\nThe Jarry pier, located at the outlet of the Salt River, has certainly contributed to modify the natural hydrodynamic flows. The access channel to the port, fitted out to receive very large tonnage ships (container ships, ore carriers...) has undoubtedly generated a priority channeling of currents<\/strong> and induced effects on the immediate marine and coastal environment (silting zones, erosion zones, sedimentary flows, sedimentary reorganization...).<\/p>\n

The study aims to identify the main impacts of the port infrastructures<\/strong> on the immediate coastline and the shallow waters of the northern part of the bay of Petit Cul-de-sac Marin, and to evaluate the effects of the port channel on the nearby submarine sedimentary dynamics, leading to the implementation of a protocol for the observation of these dynamics.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
