Current meters - ADCPs

Current meters

Aquadopp profiler

Profiler current meters are deployed in coastal areas (depth <80 m) in the water column in order to measure the speed and direction of currents, the water temperature and pressure. Data collection can be carried out in real time or autonomously.

Wave gauges

Wave gauge | SP2T10 | WiSens TD

Pressure sensors, also known as autonomous pressure recorders, are small devices used to record the environmental water pressure. These instruments are frequently deployed on immersed beaches or buried in the sand during field campaigns to collect series of data on temperature and water height. Data acquisition is automated and can be set up continuously or at variable frequencies.

ADCP

Teledyne RDI Workhorse Sentinel 1200 kHz

The ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) devices record both wave height and speed-direction of currents. This device is equipped with several piezoelectric plates that emit an acoustic signal (an ultrasonic wave) into the water column and record the reflected signal. ADCPs can be deployed in static (partially buried in the sand) or bottom-track (attached to a boat) mode.
