Climate and ecosystems
The study of past climatic conditions and climate change to date allows us to predict possible future climate changes and extreme events that may threaten the coastline. The reconstitution of paleoclimates and paleo-environments requires the analysis and identification of pollens, foraminifera and dinophytes buried in the sediment and collected from the environment by coring. Archaeological and paleoanthropological work also provides information on sea level variations and paleoclimates.
